Karina Kumar is a journalism student at the University of Texas at Austin. She will graduate in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a certificate in Data Science & Scientific Computation.

Kumar wants to be a reporter. She wants to help people through her writing. She believes it is the job of journalists to help tell the stories for those who can’t, provide education to the public through accuracy and truth and hold people accountable.

Outside of journalism, Kumar is president of the Women’s and Non-Binary Ultimate Frisbee Team at UT and competes nationally. Her hobbies include: reading, baking and throwing frisbees.
